Hey there. Hope you’re doing well. In all the things i have gone through, & all the books i have studied, one thing i have learnt is that we MUST be proactive in our life! We MUST be an active participant in our own life. I have come across many articles, research & studies over the years that support this. For example, procrastination has been shown to be bad for mental health whereas actually starting something (a task or hobby for example) is beneficial for mental health. I realised that, although many things are out of my ‘Circle of Control’ , their are many things that ARE in it, things i CAN do. Personally, I like to keep it simple & break it down into 3 steps:
* Acknowledge
* Accept
* Proactive
If a problem arises or maybe in my own self analysis i see something in me i want to change, the 1st thing i like to do is acknowledge its existence. Then i accept it for what it is & that i need to address it. Lastly i try to be proactive & will try to prayerfully & carefully gather ALL the relevant facts & details, by using ‘Critical Thinking’ skills (asking who? What? Where? When? Why? How? for example). Once i have done that i will put together a plan, a method, as to how i am gonna deal with it. Then, simply, go do it. That’s just how i look at it.
So with that being said, as part of that process, here are some excellent guides you can download, print, save & share that i find useful. I find that the things i have studied, read & come across in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Positive Psychology to be VERY helpful here as they contain exercises one can do for good mental health, strengths building, resilience, optimism, & more. two books in particular i am thinking of are these two:
* Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Made Simple: 10 Strategies for Managing Anxiety, Depression, Anger, Panic, and Worry
* Learned Optimism: How to Change Your Mind and Your Life
Those 2 & many more are available in the SHOP also.
Anyways, all these elements put together have helped me a lot, & i hope they can help you too.
